ANNOUNCEMENT CONCERNING THE DECISION TAKEN BY THE COUNCIL OF THE EU ON THE INTRODUCTION OF THE EURO AS THE OFFICIAL CURRENCY IN THE REPUBLIC OF BULGARIA

Dear Clients,

On 08.07.2025, the Council of the European Union adopted a Decision on the adoption of the Euro by the Republic of Bulgaria, in accordance with Article 140, paragraph 2 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, according to which the Euro becomes the official currency of the Republic of Bulgaria, as of 01.01.2026, which is also the date of the introduction of the Euro in the country.

The official exchange rate at which the national currency will be converted into the Euro, as specified in the EU decision, is EUR 1 = BGN 1.95583
